Golden Triangle

Incredible India is an exotic and vast country with great diversity in its language, culture, landscapes and tourism options. A single trip to India can never be enough to fully experience the wonders of this beautiful and, but with Air Arabia flying daily to jaipur you can experience the magic of Northern India and the My Delhi Agra Jaipur more famous as Golden Triangle of !ncredible !ndia.

Incredible Northern India comprises the scenic state of Jammu & Kashmir; the verdant and fertile state of Haryana the starkly beautiful desert state of Rajasthan. Himachal Pradesh, which is bordered by the mighty Himalayas, New Delhi, the country s capital and ultimate seat of the political power; and Uttar Pradesh a culturally rich state with historic importance and home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World .

The Golden Triangle, which is formed by my delhi agra jaipur my Delhi, my Agra and my Jaipur, poses an exciting adventure for international tourists. It has become an extremely popular route that also provides an excellent insight into the unique cultureof the region.

Touring My Delhi Agra Jaipur the Golden Triangle, visitors are able to take in the splendours of the historical pink city of Jaipur with its many palacesthat still evoke the grandeur of days gone by; Delhi, the capitalof India of !ndia is a city of contrasts with beguilingcharm divided into Old and New Delhi; and Agra which awes and inspires theromantic in everyone with the world s most beautiful monument dedicated to love The Taj Mahal.

My Jaipur
Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan also known as the The Pink City because of the pink was applied to its buildings Jaipur is home to impressive forts, extensive boulevards, beautiful gardens and majestic palaces that have been the residences of great royalty. The cultural legacy of royal families is evidentnot only in the architecture but Rajasthani jewellery, art and fabrics renowned as precious gifts and souvenirs for shoppers.

Of the city s many attractions, the Hawa Mahal is one of the most popular. Poet King Sawai Pratap Singh built this Palace of Winds in 1799. Today, it is an iconic landmark for the city. A stunning example of Rajput architecture and artistry with its pink delicately honeycombed 953 sandstone windows known as Jharokhas , this five-storey building overlooks the busy bazaar street. It was originally built for the ladies of the royal household to watch everyday life and processions in the city from their veiled comfort. Today most people come here to get a view of the façade but they can also climb to the top for a wonderful view from the latticed windows.

There are three hilltop forts that overlook Jaipur. The Amber Fort is a fascinating blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture set in picturesque and rugged hills. Constructed in 1592, the ancient citadel is made of red sandstone and white marble. The rugged forbidding exterior belies an inner paradise and you can enjoy this view from atop an elephant s back for a royal ride up the steep aisle to reach Kali Temple also called Shila Devi Temple, famous for mysterious history and huge silver lion statues.

Nahargarh Fort is located on the Aravali Hills and it looks most classy when floodlit at night. Nahargarh means abode of the tigers and its was built to bolster the defense of Amber. The most spectacular of the three is the Jaigarh Fort, which means Victory Fort . In Mughal times, the Jaipur region was a major weapon-producing centre for the Mughal and Rajput rulers and several of these items are on display in the fort s museum.

The City Palace is another important attraction not to be missed. In the Mubarak Mahal, the palace reception area, there is a wide array of royal costumes, some exquisite Pashmina shawls, Benaras silk sarees, Sanganeri prints and folk embroidery. Also, there is an unusual display featuring the voluminous clothes worn Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I, who ruled 1750-68.

Jantar Mantar makes another wonderful sight to visit. Built in 1718 by Sawai Jai Singh, Jantar Mantar Observatory is the most famous among the five observatories that were built by the king. The observatory in the world is still in a running condition and stands witness to the wisdom of the former age.

The Laxmi Narayan Temple is located in the south of Jaipur, and was built by the Birla family, a major industrialist family in India, which is why it is called the Birla Mandir . The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi (goddess of wealth). Keeping in mind the secular nature of the country, the temple has three domes, which represent different approaches to the relion. It is a beautiful white marble temple, which seems to glow at night. The Birla Mandir in Jaipur attracts many tourists and devotes every year. The temple is very crowded during the festivals as people come from all over thestate and country to worship.

The Rambagh Palace is also a must-see heritage property that has been the haunt of many illustrious guests, including Lord Mountbatten, Prince Charles and Omar Sharif. It was built in 1835 by the queen of Jaipur but was later converted into hunting lodge and guest house. After further modifications, the palace was suitably converted to a residence for the Maharaja of Jaipur. The palace was finally designated as a heritage hotel with all the modern comforts and luxuries to serve guests while retaining the splendour and eleganceof an old palace. The rooms of the palace have an imperial style befitting royalty and the palace itself is surrounded by lush greenery and vast lawns.

Jaipur s oldest museum is known as the Albert Hall. Modelled on the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, it is a fine example of Indo-Saracenic style of architecture that was constructed under the supervision of a British Army officer, Lt. Swinton Jacob in the year 1876. Maharaja Ram Singh, who was then the king of Jaipur, wanted this building to be used as the town hall but his successor Madho Singh decided to convert the building to an art museum.

Located in the Ramnivas Gardens, the Albert Hall is surrounded by vast and verdant landscaping that includes a zoo, a green house, an aviary, a museum and sports ground. It not only houses many rarities and beautiful objects but own building is also a sight to behold with many pillars, courtyards and arches that give it a very traditional yet elegant look.

The upper floor/level of the Museum has portraits of royalty and Maharajas. It has an extensive collection of jewellery, metalwork and sculpture, aswell as a huge collection of miniature paintings from the Jaipur, Udaipur, Bundi, Kota and Kishangarh schools of art. One can see the old traditional ceremonial dresses of the kings and the royal families which tell great tales of the city s vibrant past.

My Delhi
The capital of !ncredible !ndia, Delhi blends a historic past and a vibrant present. The Imperial city planned for the British by Lutyens is set in parks and shaded avenues. Legend has it the capital was originally founded around 1200 BC and present-day Delhi is built around the ruins of seven ancient cities.

Since those early days many dynasties and rulers have flourished on its regal soil. The legacy of that past survives in the many monuments left behind the regents, each an imprint of the character of the ruler. Today, the city is a curious blend of the modern and traditional, skyscrapers, beautiful gardens and wide tree-lined avenues perpetuate the Mughal passion of landscaping and architectural excellence.

The city s museums, art galleries and cultural centres attract the finest exhibitions and performances from !ndia and abroad. Shopping encompasses virtually everything that can be bought in the country; hotels range from deluxe to more modest. Most fascinating of all is the character of Delhi whichvaries from the 13th century mausoleum of the Lodi king set in a sprawling park to ultra modern chrome and glassskyscrapers; and from imperial India s Parliament House and the President s Palace to the never ending bustle of the walled city surrounding Jama Masjid, the biggest mosque in India.

One of the main attractions in Delhi is the India Gate, a majestic arch built in memory of soldiers killed in World War I. The towering Qutabe Minar reaching 725 metres into the sky is an architectural marvel of the 17th century, as is the Jantar Mantar, an observatory built in 1724. On the banks of the Yamuna River, Raj Ghat, the serene memorial of Mahatama Gandhi, considered the father of the nation, is a popular visitor visitor stop, as is Shanti Vana, the cremation site of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of India. Delhi s most magnificent monument is the Red Fort built in 1638. Today, it is the venue from which the Prime Minister addresses the nation on India s Independence Day.

Old Delhi, also known as the city of Shahjahanabad, was the capital of Shah Jahan but little remains of that old city. Today relics of the historical city are the gates like Kashmiri Gate, Ajmeri Gate, Turkman Gate and Delhi Gate.

Other monuments that should figure on the must see list are Rashtrapathi Bhavan, Humayun s tomb and Parliament House. However, no trip to Delhi would be complete without venturing into Chandni Chowk, the city s labyrinthine bazaar, which dates back more than a century and is still bustling with activity today.

My Agra
There are very few cities in the world that can match the history and heritage of Agra. Once a capital of the Mughals, today Agra is world famous for the “Love of a man epitomized in stone” the majestic Taj Mahal, which is one of the Seven Wonders of the World . Built my Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan in 1630 to enshrine the mortal remains of his beloved Queen Mumtaz Mahal, the monument is the embodiment of love. With fine inlay work featuring precious and semi precious-stone, a view of the Taj Mahal in the moonlight is said to be mesmersing.

Located at a distance of 204 kilomatres south of Delhi, Agra is the single most famous tourist destination of India. Situated on the west bank of River Yamuna. Agra is a part of the great Northern Indian plains and has a tropical climate.

But Agra is not only the Taj Mahal. The architectural splendor of the city is reflected in many of the glorious monuments of medieval India built by the great Mughals who ruled the country for than 300 years. Agra exudes the oraganised chaos that is India, an experience best understood from rampages of Agra Fort.

En route to Agra, you can visit the tomb of Akbar at Sikandra with its gorgeous landscaped gardens and the gigantic gateway called Buland Darwaza which features intricate mosaics of the Mughal era.
